The stitches are done with a carpet needle and hand-dyed wool thread. all the pieces are invisibly stitched down to a thick non-stretch cotton backing as wool is heavy and stretches when hung.

This quilt is made entirely from recycled wool.
The wool is usually blanket and is often dyed but in this case most of it has been left undyed. No templates are used and the 'waves' at the bottom are the striped ends of the blankets which have been torn to give a ragged edge.
It was inspired by comments of people who decide to live at the coast for 'the lifestyle' of sand, sun and sea and then choose to live in high rise apartments with airconditioning, pools and spas, tinted windows and no gardens.
